Feel lighter for an expensive watch but very cool
This watch is brilliant !! Excellent quality.
È bellissimo, l'ho regalato a mio marito che ha tutta la collezione
This is a beautiful watch that looks expensive but is very reasonably priced. The Arabic numerals are in a retro-styled font that, to me, says 1960’s. I can imagine this watch on the wrist of Paul Newman in “Winning.” Never having owned an analog chronograph watch with tachometer, I had to read up on it to understand how it worked. The manual at the Times website was helpful, but there are other online sources that explain the functions more thoroughly. Something that stumped me a little at first was the dial at the 3o’clock position. What is it? It’s a 24 hour clock, hard to read, but gives you the hour if you need to know quickly what hour it is in 24 -hour time. And finally, one thing I’d like to note about the band is that it’s very high quality, thick leather. I’m a man with a smaller wrist and often have to take up the band to the second to last hole to keep a watch from sliding around on my wrist. This one, I set at hole four and it is very solidly placed on my wrist, but comfortable, not tight at all. The case size at 40mm is also perfect for a smaller wrist, not too large but also not too small.
Está increíble el reloj, en persona luce mejor que en Las imágenes, sin duda es una excelente comprar
Great looking watch. Didn't think I'd like the plexiglass crystal but it really does add to the retro look. Perfect fit on my 6.5" wrist and the jubilee bracelet is well made and comfortable. Very legible and attractive panda dial. Can't speak to durability yet but I hope to have this watch for many years.
Looks way better in person and I received multiple compliments from people on the street. Punches way over its price. Beautiful watch, easy to read.
I bought the Marlin with the blue dial and brown leather combination, and it is a beautiful classic looking watch with a solid leather strap. It's actually slightly smaller than what I expected, but it is very neat and looks well made and it is easy to use. You can't see much in the dark as there is no night glo, but it's not a problem for me as the watch looks great otherwise. I don't think you can go wrong with a Timex as they have a reputation for making affordable but reliable watches. The Timex Marlin is a very good looking watch, but it is by no means a cheap watch. However, for the price I think it looks better than many Swiss watches I've seen that cost three times the price.
Very good looking watch. Looks more expensive than it is. Great dress watch.
I really love this Timex Marlin. The art deco dial gives it such a timeless, classy look—it stands out without being flashy. The 40mm size is perfect on the wrist and feels well-balanced. You can tell Timex paid attention to the little details on this one. It’s simple, elegant, and just has that vintage vibe that never goes out of style. Definitely one of my favorite watches in my collection.
As a female watch collector with a variety of timepieces in my rotation, (fancy and not so fancy) the Timex Marlin Chronograph with its (silver/black) panda dial instantly won me over. The 40mm case size is a sweet spot—large enough to feel modern and sporty but not overwhelming on a smaller wrist - I'm a member of the TWC coming in at sub 6" (see image 1) so was concerned I'd be on the last hole of the strap, but I'm not and it actually looks very balanced given the lug to lug is reasonable and the lugs have a slight retro curve making this wear a bit smaller than it's size . The (kind of) panda dial (I say kind of, because it's silvery face with black subdials, not a true white face with black subs) and sleek black leather strap create a timeless aesthetic, making it a versatile choice for daily wear or dressier occasions.Key FeaturesMovement: Reliable quartz analog movement, offering fuss-free timekeeping.Design: Polished stainless steel case, domed acrylic crystal, and retro-style markers give it a classic midcentury vibe.Functionality: Features a tachymeter for measuring speed and a date window for added practicality.Comfort: The leather strap is supple and adjustable, with quick-release spring bars for easy strap changes.Size: 40mm diameter and 13mm thickness, perfect for a variety of wrist sizes without looking bulky.ProsStylish panda dial design suitable for any gender. Comes in blue, green and a beige tone face as well and all would be smart on any wrist.Affordable entry into the world of chronographs. The 40mm size is a great choice for women or collectors with smaller wrists. And really the grail size for most men as well.Lightweight and comfortable for everyday wear.Despite the material, I love a good domed crystal, and this one has that perfect retro depth.ConsThe acrylic crystal is prone to scratches, so handle it with care - it can be buffed out though.Water resistance (50 meters) limits its use around water. Hand washing ok, showering probably not, pool will be no bueno. Some will complain about the date placement breaking the mid-mod symmetry, but for me, this was a non-issue, but hey, I'm putting it under the cons for the fussbudgets who want perfection and price.Quartz lacks the mechanical charm some watch aficionados prefer. But keeps great time without hassle.RecommendationI snagged this on a black Friday deal and for under $150, this chronograph is a steal. Its retro looks, reliable quartz movement, and comfortable size make it a standout in any collection. Whether you’re new to watches or a seasoned collector who wants to find a classy looking "beater," the Timex Marlin Chronograph delivers style, function, and value in spades. Would make a great gift. I may order the blue or the green face as well, it's just a winner all around.RECOMMENDATION: YES, perfect fit for every wrist and worth adding to the collection!
Not bad for the price. Just make sure to get polywatch for scratches of the face since it is made out of plastic. I’ve had it for 7 months now and I’ve worn it pretty much at work and even gardening and no problems.Solid watch- some people thought it was worth at least 1K
I bought the green version of the watch, and it's a surprising colour : seems sometimes grey or iroise, and is at the same time somehow flashy (the glass reverberates quite a lot) but sober. Can't really see the 3 little hands, and the 2 long ones are sometimes hard to read, but who cares, it's a watch.Anyway. the watch works well and looks original enough, elegant in it's way : I like it.
