With cool color blocking for a jolt of fun, this ultra-warm Girls or Boys winter jacket has all the details kiddos need for cold-weather adventures. Smart details like interior pockets and zippered armpit vents for breathability and ease of movement mean they'll feel comfortable and cozy for hours on end.
This is my third purchase of this brand. I love how warm it is and the quality is solid. My daughter loves the bright colors and then she can wear it over a hoodie because it has growth room. Excellent product and will buy again.
This jacket is perfect for what it says it is made for. It is not overly puffy (only lightly insulated) but is great as an outer layer for playing in the snow. When paired with a long-sleeved shirt and sweatshirt, it should be just suitable for an active kid. The tag says it is tested to perform from -20 degrees F to 35 degrees F. It has a nice, easy-to-use zipper with chin guard and flaps on both sides for wind protection, Velcro adjustable sleeves with an inner spandex-type sleeve cuff, two lined zipper pockets, one large mesh inner pocket (no zipper, but great for storing gloves or mittens), a small zippered pocket on the sleeve, and a hood. The inside is silky, so it slides over the underlayers easily. The jacket seems well made, and we can't wait to use it this winter. The sizing is accurate, and I love the bold and pretty color scheme. The only thing I would add is an underneath elastic waistband to keep the wind and snow out of the bottom.
This is a great looking snow jacket. We got the size Large for our 10 year old who is 4'10", 100 lbs., and wears size 14/16 or XL in clothing. The size was just right. And there is room for thin layers under (thermal base and fleece mid layer, and snow bib). We couldn't go up a size because then it was way too to big and the sleeves too long. The jacket is mid weight. With the layers, it's pretty warm. We mostly ski in Southern California where you can ski in a short sleeve T-shirt during the day time when temperatures are in the 60's. But layers and a wind/waterproof jackets are necessary when the sun goes down. This jacket is rated 8K in waterproofing scale. 5K is the lowest rating for a garment to be considered waterproof. So this is a bit higher. Nowhere does it say that in the product description so thought I'd mention it here.Lastly, the value is awesome. I picked this one up for $30. And it will be passed down to younger siblings. For our young growing skiers, we've been buying Arctix since they started playing in the snow! Happy skiing/snow boarding!!
Overall, this is a very nice jacket. The material seems to be of good quality and overall it is a good quality jacket. It’ll keep your child warm without being really “puffy.” It fits true to size. The only thing I worry about is that the quality of the zipper seems iffy. I can see it falling apart over time, but perhaps not before my daughter outgrows it. If it does break, I will update this review. Overall, however, I and my daughter are pleased with it.
Size is WAY too large.
The colors are wonderful. Nice pockets and the zipper work. Have ordered several of this brand. Would recommend.
We bought this coat to donate to “Coats for Kids”. The quality is great and it’s very stylish. It should keep a young one warm for the winter.
I admit, I had my reservations about buying a brand that I wasn't familiar with. I scoured multiple stores in search of the perfect jacket which is also economical and then I stumbled upon this Arctix jacket for my daughter. It's a jacket that checks all the boxes – warmth, comfort, a clever hood with great coverage, snuggly cuffs, and a vibrant color scheme to keep her engaged with her jacket and of course flaunt it.The fit is perfect for my 7 yr old, but she is slightly smaller than average so might want to order a size up if your child runs average/large. Some of the distinct features that I liked are:1. I liked that it has velcro patches on the outside rather than buttons because its difficult for kids to tie the buttons and moreover if you have your gloves, then even adults find it challenging to put the buttons.2. The hood has great coverage3. The material is water resistant. Although we haven't test it out in rain or something, it does repel water to some extent4. In terms of warmth, it may not be enough on its own on those colder days, but with a sweater or a sweatshirt underneath you will be comfortably warm for sure. This jacket does locks the wind out and works as a windcheater. All in all a good addition to my daughter's wardrobe.
