Prevent flood damage and avoid costly repairs with the easy-to-install, newly designed Lead free Washing Machine Valve Shutoff Kit. This system not only detects leaks early, but it automatically shuts your water off in the event of a leak, alerting you with the control panel's alarm. Designed for both residential and commercial dwellings, the Washing Machine Valve Shutoff Kit uses a pair of automatic 3/4-inch full port motorized ball valves to shut off the water supply whenever your washing machine leaks. The non-intrusive devices can be installed in as little as 10 minutes; no professional plumbers are required. This kit includes everything you need to protect your property from costly water-leak damage: valves installed on your hot and cold water inlets, a water sensor to be placed on the floor, and the control unit, which is mounted to your wall with the included screws. A power supply is included; you need to also install four AA batteries (not included) for backup power, unit will beep to alert you of low or no batteries. Unit can run on only batteries for approximately 1 year. The controller has “one” output contact (normally open) that can be attached to a dialer, WiFi module, or security system so you can be alerted to a leak when not home! You can even add multiple water sensors for different areas around your washing machine. If your washing machine should begin to leak, the controller tells the water valves to close and alerts you with an 87db alarm.

This seems to work great and do what I want it to do in testing.I have found that placement of the board is key, you definitely want to leave it somewhere easy to access to deal with random drops of water getting on it.

Bought this (along with new washer supply hoses) to protect against potential water leaks from a tight third-floor washer setup where the hoses and the regular shut-off valves are very hard to reach. It's a little expensive, but probably worth it. The product was easy to install and seems like a well-designed and well-built product. Being able to easily shut off the water supply with a simple push of a switch when we aren't using the washer is an added plus for peace of mind (e.g., when we go on vacation). I'm waiting to see if I can get a discount on my homeowners insurance.I thought about giving it four stars because it isn't a "smart" product, but then I realized that it doesn't need to be. If the Floodstop detects a leak, it will shut off the water and should prevent major damage. If I'm home, I'll hear the alarm and I can check it, but it's not likely to be an emergency (if the product works as advertised). If I'm not home, getting an alert on my phone wouldn't really add much value. And not having to connect a product to wifi eliminates an additional and sometimes problematic installation step.

Easy to install, and worked each time I tested it by putting a little water on the sensor. Brings peace of mind by protecting against a rare but costly event. If this has a 99% chance of working in the event of a catastrophic failure, then it reduces the risk of such a failure by two orders of magnitude. One tip: MEASURE the distance from the nearest power outlet before ordering. The power cable that comes with it is about 10 feet long. It turned out I needed to order two of the power supply extension cables that are sold by the same vendor for such cases in order to reach all the way from the closest 120-volt outlet.

I installed the system and one of the valves did not work. The valve wire connector has very flimsy pins and I found that one of the two pins did not connect. I had to bend the pin straight and carefully plug it in. After that the system worked perfectly. Dropping water on the sensor closed the valves.

Title states it all. Easy install, works out of the box. Tested prior to hooking up.This is my second unit unfortunately, the first unit for some reason or another I used batteries - I guess with the moisture and the battery housing, it ended up corroded throughout the main console... This led to the valve faulty opening and closing, eventually closing and never opening the valves again which I then uninstalled the old unit. Again, I would not recommend the batteries unless it's a camper type situation or temporary use but that's my experience.

Received package that appears to have already been opened. Box was bowing making it appear that this may have been opened and returned. Parts were loose in box with som small pieces falling out into shipping box. For this price would have expected a new one.

Quick install Read all of the instructions. Sensor works quickly with just a drop of water. The sensor is wrapped with paper cover, it is flimsy so water can penetrate and be wicked up to sensor. If you should lose it wrap the sensor with a paper towel. Battery back up works. Keep a reminder to replace the 4 AA Batteries at least once a year, better yet, unplug the unit and press the on an off valve buttons to make sure the valves work. The fill sensor on our washer failed and flooded 3 rooms in 20. min causing close to $10K in damages. This is a solid unit.

I installed this when I replaced the washer and dryer and it was well made and easy to install. If you read the reviews about any new washer and dryer, someone will post something about a catastrophic leak even on new machines. I wanted to make sure it doesn't happen to me. It was actually higher quality than in the photos.
